Hey there CSLA!  Read on for good stuff to know...

MGT Facilities Meetings - If you would like to come hear some of the plans for our school facilities across the county and lend your voice and suggestions, please plan to attend one of these meetings.  They will be tomorrow, Jan. 28 at 6pm at Tyner and Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 6pm at Brown Middle School.  I will be there tomorrow, so see me to sign in and get volunteer time.  Email me if you attend on Wednesday.  Wear your CSLA gear and show up!

Coffee with Krystal - Grab some coffee and the principal's ear!  Come chat with Mrs. Scarbrough in her office on Wed, Jan. 29 at 9am and bring your questions or concerns and let her share some of the great things going on at CSLA!  It's a totally informal and casual time to talk.

Strawberry Sale - You can still order beautiful, fresh, juicy strawberries to support our 7th graders and their trip to Washington, DC next year.  Order online HERE or send cash/check to CSLA to the office with attached form.  Flats containing eight 1-lb. containers will arrive in February and are only $25.  Deadline to order is Friday, Jan. 31.  Strawberry Order Form.pdf

Lottery Deadline - If your pal is interested in the magnet lottery (including Kindergarten at CSLA) or any high school options (STEM or Future Ready Institutes), the deadline for those online lottery applications is this Friday, Jan. 31.  You can find the link to apply HERE.

The Emperor's New Clothes - Our students will present this musical on Sat, Feb. 1 at 11am at Brainerd Hills Baptist Church next door.  Tickets are $5 for adults and kids are free.  Our students will be watching it on Friday afternoon for a private student performance, but you're welcome to join the audience on Saturday!

Art Club - Middle School students interested in Art Club on Wednesday afternoons with Miss Kent need to turn in their application by Friday, Feb. 7.  The first meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 12.  Art Club Application 2020 .pdf

Strong Family Night - Great speakers coming to give you strategies and tools to make you a more informed and confident parent!  Join us Tuesday, Feb. 4 from 6-7:30 pm for this educational evening.  Details and sign-ups coming mid-week.

HALF-DAY for STUDENTS - Wednesday, Feb. 5.  Dismissal at noon.  Aftercare available.

Jazz Band - Mr. Ransom is still looking for a few kids to join this fun group and play some snazzy music!  Practices are Tue and Thur mornings.  This is available to 7th and 8th grade students.  Jazz Band Club 2020.pdf

State of the System Address - Come hear our superintendent, Dr. Johnson, give a summary of our past school year and the direction we are heading in the future.  The presentation will be Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 pm at Howard Connect Academy and volunteer time will be awarded for attendance.

Shop with Scrip - Don't forget that the Strings Department is participating in this program to raise money for new instruments, music and to defray the cost of trips.  Simply purchase a gift card you know you're going to need anyway and a portion of your purchase goes to Strings!  Easy peasy!  Strings Boosters Scrips Flyer.pdf

Middle School Dance - Friday, Feb. 7 from 6-8 pm in the Auditorium.  Tickets are $5 at the door.

Sick Kids - Remember to please keep your student at home if they have had a fever in the last 24 hours, are vomiting, have diarrhea or are otherwise sick and contagious.  We are working hard to keep our classrooms and common areas disinfected, but keeping your germs at home is the best prevention!

The Know Show - Don't forget to save the date for this fun, adult-only evening at the Granfalloon on Saturday, March 7 at 6pm.  It's going to be such a great time together with delicious food and drinks, hilarious trivia games and fabulous auction items.  Start watching Jeopardy! and get ready to wow your friends with your wealth of random facts!

Next Year - Did you know the school calendar is already out for next year?  You can find it HERE.  Also, just so you know, there is nothing you need to be doing now to enroll again for next year.  It is necessary for you to complete your volunteer hours by April 30, have attended both your fall and spring conference dates and not exceed the unexcused absence limit of 8 days though so your seat is not at risk.  I will send home Intent to Return forms in April so you can let us know your plans for the 2020-21.

Whew - I think that's enough for one day.  Most of this is on the calendar on the website, so, you know, hop on over and take a look!  And have a great week!
