Happy New Year CSLA!  I know 2020 has great things in store for all of us!  And so it begins...

Label your stuff - SOOOO many things were left at Lost and Found (which should actually just be called the Lost and Never Found because rarely do things go home).  But I returned everything that was labeled!!  Please put even initials in jackets and lunchboxes, and we'll get them back to your child.

Sports Banquet - All middle school students and their families (Softball, Football, Cross Country, Tennis, Basketball and Soccer) are invited for an evening to recognize the kids and coaches who were responsible for great seasons!  Thur, Jan. 9 at 6:00 in the Auditorium - no ticket, no rsvp needed.  BASKETBALL BOYS will take a team picture that night - please be there!

Biltmore Meeting - At least one parent for each 5th grade student should plan to attend this informational meeting on Thur, Jan. 9 from 5-5:30 in the Library.  A notary will be on hand for papers needing a stamp.  The trip is Jan. 16-17.

Report Cards/Volunteer Hour Reports - Will come home on Fri, Jan. 10.  Please make sure to review both.  If you have questions about your hours, please let me know.

Magnet/Choice School Fair - If you are interested or have friends who might be interested in the magnet or choice schools for next year, they will all be represented at a School Fair on Sat, Jan. 11 from 10:30-1:30 at Northgate Mall.  Great time for 8th grade families interested in Future Ready Institutes or STEM.  Remember online applications for any of these options (as well as the Kindergarten lottery for CSLA and CSAS) are due by Jan. 31.  You can find more information at under School Choice.

NO SCHOOL - Monday, Jan. 20 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Volleyball - The middle school team begins playing this month!  Check out their schedule on the website under Athletics and support our team!

School Play - Information will be coming soon about our new program this year and how students can participate.  Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled for the last week of January with a parent production on Sat, Feb. 1.

Volunteer Opportunities - On the website.  Remember hours are due by April 30.  I would love to have as few migraines as possible over this, so don't wait until the last minute - it's so not fun!  Don't forget you can donate Amazon gift cards up to $30 ($10 = 1 hour).  You can bring me actual cards or buy online and bring me the print-out for us to add to our account.  We are so grateful for all the ways our families help us throughout the year - you are IMPORTANT!!

Calendar - Go ahead and check out the calendar for this semester.  A lot of events are already listed including Picture Day, several field trips and Conferences so that you can plan ahead.

We'll see you Monday!  Have a great rest of your week!
