Book Fair - THIS week through Friday.  Open 8:30-4:30 with late hours on Thursday until 7:30.  Remember to send your student with enough money to cover tax!  You can also add money to an e-wallet at scholastic.com/fair - no baggies of quarters needed!

Read Across America Special Days - To celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday, we have special days all week long that bring out the wackiest and craziest parts of his famous books:

Monday - Cat in the Hat Day - wear a crazy hat!
Tuesday - Fox in Socks Day - wear crazy socks!
Wednesday - Our Many Colored Days - wear ALL the colors!
Thursday - Oh, The Places You'll Go Day - dress up as what you want to be when you grow up OR wear your favorite college or vacation shirt!
Friday - If I Ran the Zoo Day - wear your animal prints, clothes with animals on them or dress as your favorite animal!

Track - Do you have a 6th-8th grade student interested in running track?  It starts TOMORROW after school in the Gym!  Pick up is at 5:30 behind the school.  Remember each student needs a current sports physical on file in order to practice.  Wear running shoes and bring a water bottle.

Granola with Grandparents - The PTA invites all CSLA students to bring their grandparents or other special friends for a morning of stories and a breakfast snack this Tuesday, March 3 from 8-8:30am in the Auditorium.  You're welcome to visit the Book Fair afterward or just send your student on their way with a big hug!

Election Day - GO VOTE on Tuesday, March 3!!

Celebration of Learning - Thursday, March 5 at 6pm.  Important announcements from the PTA, great giveaways and a chance to peruse the hallways to see what all has been happening in our classrooms.  You can also enjoy extended hours at the Book Fair in the Library!

PTA Know Show - If you haven't made your reservation yet, you are missing out on the premier event of the weekend!  This is PTA's Spring Fundraiser in response to lots of suggestions for an adult-only event so we can have fun and raise money for our school without the kids!  Come down to the Granfalloon on Main Street this Saturday at 6pm for great food, hilarious trivia, games, a silent auction and tons of fun with new friends and old.  The PTA is working to keep our Foreign Language department appropriately staffed so that all our students can continue this program every year.  They need your support!  Sign up HERE and then pay on Venmo (@CSLA-PTA) or Paypal (cslapta@gmail.com) or at dismissal on Mon 3/2 or Wed 3/4.  Make sure you email your team to cslaknowshow@gmail.com.  Don't have a team?  Don't worry!  That just means you'll have a blast and make new friends Saturday!

Conference Sign-Ups - Coming out later this week - stay tuned and make sure you complete this magnet commitment.  Conferences are 3/19 and 3/20 (no students on 3/20).

Baseball Try-Outs - For 6th-8th grade boys are 3/9-3/11.  Bring a glove, cleats and a bat if you have one.  Remember your student MUST have a current sports physical on file in order to try-out.

6th Grade Nature's Classroom Meeting - At least one parent must attend one of the following meetings:  Mon 3/9 at 5:30pm or Tue 3/10 at 7:30am.  A notary will be on hand for papers that need to be notarized.

Kindergarten Orientation - This is a mandatory meeting for all incoming Kindergarten student families - at least one parent needs to attend - and is on Tuesday, March 10 at 6pm.  Please do not bring children.  Lots of information will be discussed and a parent seminar will follow.  Watch for an email for Shadow Day sign-ups soon!

There's a lot going on this month, so stay in the loop and be a part!  We're better when we're together!
