Welcome Back, CSLA!  We hope your Fall Break was a both fun and relaxing!

Conferences - Parent/Teacher conferences will be held this week.  These are mandatory per your Magnet School Parent Commitment.  If you have not signed up for a conference, please contact your teacher directly as sign-ups have been removed from the website.

Conference Night Chick-fil-A - The PTA will be offering a Chick-fil-A dinner in the foyer on Thursday night from 4-7pm.  For $5, you can get a sandwich, chips and water and not have to worry about feeding your family that evening!  Food will be available until it's gone!  Volunteers needed - see website to sign up.

Volunteer Hours Reports - Look for your report to be stapled to the Report Card of your youngest student - it will have all the hours from any volunteer time since May 1.  Remember your 18 hours are due by April 30, 2020.  You can use up to 9 hours from field trips and 3 hours from Amazon Card donations to go toward your required amount.  New ways to volunteer happen all the time - just keep an eye on the website where all opportunities are always posted and click on the one you want to sign up for.  We need help in lots of ways, not just during the school day, so see how you can plug in and support our students!

NO STUDENTS - This Friday, Oct. 18 since conferences will be going on.  If you have a fourth grader and above, remember they need to attend the conference with you.

Pizza Sale - The Strings Boosters are offering to take care of your dinner with Marco's Pizza (owned by one of our CSLA families).  Please see attached order form to either order a hot pizza ready for dinner or a gift certificate you can use at a later date - or both!  Return form and payment to the Office by Oct. 21.  Forms will come home with students tomorrow or you can print this one: CSLA Strings Booster- Pizza In a Box 2019.pdf

Kindergarten Tours - If you have friends interested in entering the CSLA lottery for Kindergarten next year, we are offering another tour tomorrow at 10:30.  Please direct them to the Admissions tab on the website to sign up so we can plan accordingly.  We'll also offer tours on Mon, Nov. 4.  The online applications are scheduled to be available in late November.  These tours are NOT required in order to apply.  Watch for info next week on Sibling Identification Forms.

Book Fair - The Library will host the fall Book Fair beginning Friday during conferences until noon and then all next week.  This is a great way to support your student's reading and raise funds for the Library.  Volunteer sign-ups to help are also on the website.  You MUST be able to work the entire time period and count money to help at the Book Fair.

Boy Scout Meeting - If you are interested in enrolling your child in Boy Scouts, there will be an informational meeting at CSLA on Tue, Oct. 22 at 6pm in the Auditorium.  The Boy Scouts will visit classrooms this week to talk about it with the students.

Strings Concert - Friday, Oct. 25 at 6pm.  This is for all strings students grades 5-8.  Please watch for Reminds and Facebook posts from Mrs. Benno about concert dress and arrival times for students.

CSLA 5K - Sat, Oct. 26 at 9am at the TN Riverpark on Amnicola Hwy.  If you haven't registered yet to participate, here's the form!  Just send it to the Office.  Volunteers are also needed - sign-up is on the website.  CSLA 5K 2019.2.pdf

Save the Date - Fri, Nov. 8 - PTA's Fall Carnival!  It's going to be fun night of games, food and dodgeball for the whole family - make plans to be here and watch for more info to come and ways you can volunteer!

Once again, thanks so much for all the support during Coupon Book sales.  The new covered walkway is fabulous and it's all thanks to YOU!  Prizes for the students will come home this week, so PLEASE check backpacks for a ziploc bag with their goodies inside.

Have a great week!
